16/12/2007 - BACK AGAIN LIKE A JOHN FARNHAM FAREWELL TOUR!!!

Hello to anyone out there who still gives a shit! I know there aren't many of you left. But as I sit here listening to David Bowie I realise that someone has to get this website rolling again and it might as well be me. I am usually quite vocal and exuberant with my one sided opinions so why don't I just write them down here.

Some news first......
Despite many people thinking that we disappeared into the wilderness of monetarily unsuccessful bands. Nothing could be further from the truth. We have never and possibly will never stop. Just because we don't do pointless gigs anymore does not mean we don't have a band. I'll get onto that train soon.
NeoKin have been hard at work in our guitarist's (Jean) studio. We have just completed recording and mixing and mastering a new EP that is slated for release early next year sometime. We're currently in the process of arguing over the artwork. We agree on most things as a band but never artwork. We all have different visions and ideas. Ocassionally I think we need an artistic director to come in, bitch slap us, and just tell us what we'll have on the cover. As it is, I think we will reach a consensus in enough time to get it done for a Feb/March deadline.

Anyway, back to gig talk......
What the fuck is the use of doing shitty gigs all the time. If you happen to live in a vibrant city with a brilliant live scene the you are fortunate. I love where I live but it has the poorest live music scene. When we do a gig (typically), we will promote with posters, emails, myspace and work of mouth. This generally leads to a mediocre crowd in a venue that was never originally set up with any intention of employing bands. For a night that starts with an early load in, shit support bands (mostly, not always), and ends with noise complaints and load out.... we would be better off using half that amount of time to promote ourselves online. The only reason for us to do gigs these days is for the pure pleasure of rocking out. It is not a tool that promotes bands anymore. Unless you get a good support from an international or already have good radio rotation, you cannot reach any new punters who could become fans.
The music world is all arse about. Bands used to tour, which gave them exposure for radio and possible record deal. Now you have to have radio play and possibly a record deal to be able to do a worthwhile gig.

If anyone disagrees with this, please let me know. I putting my opinion on you so feel free to force yours upon me.

11/07/2006 - gig gig gig gig

hey all. neokin are playing an awesome show at the coolangatta hotel, saturday 12th august.... playing with Miacarla and The Flash.... gonna be on, so make sure you come to see the stage get rocked.
as far as things have been going, neokin have been in the studio, still finishing the next release.... things going well.... just not as fast as we'd like.... but don't despair..... it'll be worth the wait....
wanna say thanks to all those myspace users who have been showin the love and support... big thanks to all of them.....

hey all.... adam here... am currently on holiday overseas... lets call it a reasearch holiday (not!).... and am yet again sending my thanks to all for checking out the site... the hits keep on coming, and it is constantly surprising... really looking forward to the upcoming shows... with a bit of luck, we should have lots of shows in the coming months... so. make sure you all come, rock pants on, and drinks in hand. or rather rock poses if you don't drink. support your local music!

1/11/2005 - last minute gig!

hey all!!! we seem to be the masters of getting last minute gigs.... we are playing the chophouse, surfers paradise this saturday night which is the 5th november....... so come along, have a drink, and join the rock. the chophouse is a very cool venue, with the right vibe... come and support your local venue!

29/07/2005 - southport rsl gig cancelled,and another gig gained

yes... the gig we had for advertised for saturday 6th august, has been cancelled...due to some circumstance or another....oh well... no rock that night!! but we have now a new gig!! come along to THE CHOPHOUSE, Surfers Paradise and see us playing a Semi-Acoustic set.... as you know we usually play at loud volumes only, so come see us playing some of the songs you know with an acoustic vibe... Friday 5th August...come along!!!!!!

Bard Rossevold, Mark Adams, Nithin Britto and Anders Fikke...4 guys... one mission... one filmclip... in the upcoming week or two, we will hopefully have posted a version of the filmclip we shot with these cool, talented people... a crazy weekend that was an awful lot of fun and hard work...BIG thanks to thses people for shooting our clip, and for letting us use all the media...and also thanks to Magnus R Nordstrand for shooting all the awesome stills... also Alex Aker, and all the actors involved...alot of fun indeed.

hey all.... just checkin in to tell you what the latest is in the land of neO kin.... things are pretty quiet on the gig front for us at the moment... but don't dispair!! we will be playing live at a venue near you soon... just be ready to rock!
we are currently demo-ing some new songs to rock your ears with, and the results have been turning out very nicely indeed...
we need to say a big thanks to one of our friends who has taken alot of his time to help us, in the area of pictures and photography, and also our cd cover... in fact there's not many pictures we have that haven't been taken by ADAM WEATHERED... so a big thanks to him for all his help, and be sure to check out his website for more info on this talented photographer... www.adamweathered.com

just wanted to say thanks to all who showed up at our gigs from the past two weeks... certainly feels very good to be back on stage... at the present moment in time... we are hooking up more shows, sorting out a filmclip ( who we shot recently with a wicked crew of people! thanks again for all the good work!!!) and always writing new stuff....
as you can see, we wanted to keep the website simple... easy to use... and clutter free... tho if any of you out there have some suggestions for things you'd like to see here... then contact us.... we are always up for new ideas, and if you don't say what you want, how does one know?
